The Huawei Y8p brings flagship-inspired aesthetics, vivid OLED display technology, and advanced night photography into an accessible mid-range package. Measuring an ultra-slim 7.75mm in thickness and weighing an astonishingly light 163 grams, the device is powered by Huawei's 12nm HiSilicon Kirin 710F octa-core processor, comprising four ARM Cortex-A73 performance cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and four energy-saving Cortex-A53 cores at 1.7 GHz, coupled with the Mali-G51 MP4 graphics engine. Supported by 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB using Huawei's proprietary Nano Memory card slot), it provides reliable daily multitasking, smooth social media navigation, and steady entertainment running on EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 (utilizing Huawei Mobile Services and Huawei AppGallery).
Visuals are showcased on a gorgeous 6.3-inch Full HD+ OLED display (1080 x 2400 pixels) with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 418 ppi pixel density, and an 83.2% screen-to-body ratio. The OLED panel delivers rich contrast, deep true blacks, and wide color fidelity. Integrated directly into the screen is an In-Display Optical Fingerprint Scanner, offering swift and secure unlocking alongside an ambient Always-On Display (AOD). Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, the display features TÜV Rheinland-certified Eye Comfort modes to filter out harmful blue light during extended use.
In the camera department, the rear houses an adaptable triple camera module headlined by a 48 MP primary wide camera (f/1.8 aperture, 1/2.0" sensor, PDAF) equipped with Huawei's SuperSensing RYYB filter matrix, which allows up to 40% more light intake compared to traditional RGGB sensors for enhanced low-light clarity. It is accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide angle camera (f/2.4) offering a 120-degree field of view for landscapes and group shots, and a 2 MP depth camera (f/2.4) for natural background blur in portrait mode. The camera setup features AIS Handheld Super Night Mode for shake-free long exposures in the dark, recording video at 1080p at 30fps. On the front, a 16 MP selfie camera (f/2.0) housed in the dewdrop notch handles self-portraits, video calling, and facial authentication.
Powering the device is a 4000 mAh lithium-polymer battery engineered with smart AI power management, delivering dependable full-day usage for social browsing, streaming, and calling. Recharging is handled via standard 10W wired charging over a reversible USB Type-C 2.0 port. Finished in stunning light-bending gradient coatings available in Breathing Crystal and Midnight Black, the smartphone includes a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack, built-in FM Radio, full-function NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and Dual 4G SIM standby connectivity.
